Waste materials are an issue that concerns the whole world. Waste materials pollute our soil, water and air. Global warming occurs as a result of the accumulation of harmful gases released from waste materials in the atmosphere. Experts say the oceans will contain more waste than fish by 2050, unless waste is tackled. Every year, 25 million tons of plastic waste is produced in Europe, of which only 30% is recycled. In Turkey, 31 million tons of domestic waste is produced every year (euronews). In addition, the consumption habits of people all over the world and in Europe are increasing day by day. Consuming without producing, excessive consumption, ignoring the damage to the environment have become a habit for people. Necessary steps should be taken to restructure the consumption habits of the people and to raise the awareness of them in order to control the consumption

Let's achieve big things with small steps together
In line with all these current needs, the tendency and approach of the people should be changed step by step with education. It is in our hands to build a sustainable future. Our common awareness, common steps and organizational work will be beneficial in achieving this across Europe. In this direction, adult education institutions have the power to raise public awareness, transform the public and take action. It is expected that our institutions will unite and grow this power to save our resources. In this respect, our adult education institutions should take the necessary steps on the environment that concerns all humanity. With this project, which is intented to increase environmental awareness and knowledge of learners, educators and individuals, it is aimed to fight against climate and environment changes through adult education.
